Nest week, April 14-20, the Marfa Public Library joins libraries in schools, campuses and communities nationwide in celebrating National Library Week, a time to highlight the value of libraries.

Libraries today are more than repositories for books and other resources. Libraries are deeply committed to their communities and are trusted places where everyone in the community can gather to engage with each other to enrich the community and address local issues.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.

Come by the Marfa Public Library next week, April 15-20, to help celebrate and learn about our programs, such as storytime, GED tutoring, and ESL classes.

We’ll have drawings each day for prize and kids can join in a scavenger hunt for books after school. We hope to see you at the library!

For more information call the library at 432-729-4631.
